DAY 12: Hungry Horse, Montana.....Now that's A Cool Name....

Friday, June 12: Hungry Horse, Montana

The name of this town does make one wonder about the horse that was so hungry they named a town after him, huh?

Today was a long day......although we didn't cover a lot of miles, we covered a lot of ground.  We left Camp TeePee this morning pretty early (for us.....9:00 am is early) and headed on the road to Hungry Horse, Mt. near the Glacier National Park.  We had gotten about 150 miles up the road when we saw a huge RV dealer off the highway that claimed to be the largest in the entire state of Montana.  Since we didn't know for sure whether Chuck had fixed the problem from the day before, we decided to stop in there and have it checked out.  They informed us we needed to see the Cummins Diesel guys down the street instead.  So off we went....to the Cummins Diesel guys.  It's now about 11:30 am and they were just getting ready to go to lunch....so we waited....By the time we left there, it was 4:30 and they had done every kind of diagnostic on the RV known to man and everything was showing okay.  I guess this makes me happy, however, I would still feel so much better knowing the exact cause of the trouble.....just in case it happened again...

We knew we had another 2 hour drive ahead of us, so we scooted out of there and headed towards Glacier National Park near the Canadian border.  Well, whoever told us we had a 2 hour drive LIED to us.......more like 4 hrs.....between major construction; two lane roads; mountains to climb; stupid Garmin GPS giving wrong directions, we finally pulled in here around 8:30.   Cool thing, though.  The lady and man who own this RV campground (which is VERY nice) live half the year on a lake outside Tyler, Tx just down the road from us.....how about that!?!  I asked for that Texas Discount!

Anyway, that's been our day......we are bone tired and at each others throats, so its time to call it a day and start fresh tomorrow.

Hi Liz and Chuck-----we are loving your blog every day!!!! That shows how interesting our life is these days!!.. he he You are so brave driving that huge rig up and down mountain two-lane roads through all kinds of weather. Now, finally----you two ARE normal----Dick and I would have been at each other’s throats long before now for sure. You have experienced some STRESS for sure and just being physically tired doesn’t help. We had a HUGE electrical storm Wed nite and, of course, 245,000 people were without power, and we were one of those folks. Got it on yesterday evening, but it was a verification that I was born at the right time in history as far as AC and electrical needs are concerned. I was a real weeny and fairly grouchy most all of the time. He he
Take care and stay safe as I know you will.
Love, Bonnie and Dick
