DAY 17: Mt. St. Liz's-Gut-Is-On-Fire!!

Wednesday, June 17 - Kelso, Washington

Have I mentioned how much I like this campground??  Chuck likes it a lot too!  He & Murphy tried to climb what we now call Mt. St. Helens, Jr. which is the hill across from our RV. Unfortunately, Murphy made it to the top and Chuck, well......didn't.......he rolled down the hill...(Norm, do you see a pattern here???)......For those in his fan club; he's okay.......I tried to get him to do it again so I could get a picture & share with you all, but he declined.

After the AM roll, we debated on whether to try to head to the actual Mt. St. Helens today since it was threatening rain.  We decided to hang out around town, wash the trike AGAIN so we could see out the windshield, get some prescriptions filled,  find out what Kelso is known for, and take Murphy for a ride on the trike.

We discovered by driving around town that Kelso must be known for the record on lowest bridge clearances.  Thank goodness we weren't in the RV......it would now be a convertible.  We are hopeful we will be able to find the pharmacy again.....we were a little lost when we found it the first time AND, we took Murphy for a long ride on the trike by driving the 120 mile round trip to the pacific coast.  He loved it!  Had coffee and some hot fried potato thing that, I've got to tell you, I'm still burping up while eating Tums like candy right now.  Geez.....I feel like I have a volcano going off in my gut.....Mt. St. Liz's-Gut-Is-On-Fire...........Overall, a nice, relaxing very good day......with the exception of the eruption!

Tomorrow??  Chuck's going to try and climb the REAL Mt. St. Helens.........today was just a practice...

I really look forward to reading about your adventures each morning! Dick and I saw Mt.St. Helen's last year. There's not much of the mountain left, but the exhibit is really cool.

HEY YOU ALL,

SOUNDS LIKE YOU HAD A GREAT DAY. IT'S NICE JUST TO BUM AROUND A TOWN, ESPECIALLY AFER FALLING OF A MOUNTAIN. THERE DOES SEEM TO BE A TREND HERE. I GUESS THAT WILL BE PROVEN OUT IN THE MORNING.

Hi Liz & Chuck:
We are back in Pittsburgh and decided to read your blog of your vacation as it happened. , in order. Hey Liz, you should put it all together and you would see that you have a great little booklet. Loved the pictures, mostly of Chuck, right. That one of Murphy was so cute. I am typing this in bigger print, because it is easier for me to check as I go along. Since my cataract surgerys, my up close vision stinks. I don't know if I would have had it done if I had a clue. Anyway your postings are like a travelog. Scenery was fantastic. Charles Kuralt, has nothing on you. (Remember his t v show(On the Road). Anyway thanks from your Internet Explorer readers.

We are having a grand family reunion and Kim, Mike and my daughter Diane are coming. Kim, Diane and I are going to take a side trip to Rehoboth Beach, Delaware for a couple of days before Mike gets here. We always spent summer vacations there as my Mother-in-law had a home there. Diane hasn't been there in 29 yrs, so she will notice big changes. Well I will finally close for now(yeah) But once again, thanks for sending me the vacation adventures. Say Hi to chuck for us and give Murphy a hug from me.
