DAY 11: Chuck Now Has Clean Underwear.........

Manitou Springs, CO  - July 11, 2010

Today was Laundry Day........and boy-howdy, did we have some laundry!  Although the weather was awesome outside today, we knew if we rode the motorcycle, or even uncovered it, the rain would start, so our strategy was to do laundry instead!   Did I mention the weather outside was AWESOME????

So, quarters in hand, I headed to the laundromat here at the Pikes Peak RV Park.  Loaded up 4 washers and headed back to the RV, just to find Chuck - Mr. RV-Socialite - meeting yet another neighbor.  Here's a sampling of our new RV neighbors thus far:

1)  A family of four from Ohio.  The Potts family are on their maiden RV voyage and headed to Yellowstone. This is a really cool family.  Within the past two weeks, they have decided to take a family road trip; bought a used RV to make that trip in; loaded up the two dogs and two sons, 17 and 22, and hit the road.  WOW!  That takes gumption!  They are lovin' the RV life and we hate to see them pull out of here tomorrow headed to Wyoming.  Their oldest son, Andy, is also a Blogger and blogging this family road trip at http://pottsfamilyvacation.blogspot.com/.  Be sure and check it out......pretty cool!

2)  A man and his adult son from S. Dakota.  They are traveling in their 5th wheel doing contract work around the US.  Interesting guys until the Dad started telling me about all the people he's shot in his lifetime and the guns he used to shoot them with.  Not sure how this subject even came up, but turns out, he's shot about 20 people in his lifetime and "doesn't shoot to injure".  Okkkaaaayyyy........I promptly excused myself and ran home....

3)  Nice guy, Phil and his wife, Deb, both turning 50 next month, are right next door from N. Carolina.  They are traveling in an Airstream and have no itinerary....they are just traveling..... An interesting tidbit about these two are they hit a big black bear in their pickup truck last year.  How cool is that????

Well, I could go on and on................but I won't.

During the wash and dry cycle, we decided to head on over to the nearby park; Subway sandwiches and blanket in hand, Murphy on leash, and had a nice picnic by the creek.  Ahhhhh....this is what its all about, folks!  So nice.......

Tomorrow??  Who knows; all that matters is Chuck now has clean underwear!!
