DAY 67: I Just Love My Charlie......

DAY 67:  Brutally HOT Salt Lake City, Utah - September 4, 2010

I just love my Charlie......aka Chuck.

As most of you know, he has Multiple Sclerosis.....Now, for those of you who aren't familiar with this bizarre disease, it attacks the nerves in your body and problems can show up just about anywhere in the body.  You never know; one day his legs won't work, the next day he can't see.  The MS has affected his hearing which, if you've been following my blogs very long, will know is probably the most irritating part for Liz to deal with.  We have the most bizarre conversations, usually a minimum of three times (same conversation) before we both are on the same page.

One of the newest things I've noticed lately with him is he doesn't talk as loud as he used to.  Now, I can "hear" you thinking out loud saying, "Well, Liz...how do you know you're not just getting hard of hearing yourself??"  Right??  Well, I know it's not "my" hearing cause everyone else he talks to does the same slight head tilt; question mark plastered all over their face and the word "Huh??" that I have been.   So imagine my surprise when, while watching the movie Pretty Woman this evening, I heard him say:

CHUCK:  "You know, Julia Roberts would have been much better in this role than this girl."
LIZ:  "That is Julia Roberts"
CHUCK:  "It is??  Really? Are you sure??"

Oh ya, its things like this that make me love him even more......aggravating sometimes....YES.......frustrating most of the time....YES.......but with each bizarre conversation, I'm more in love with this man......

Oh ya, just thought I'd make your day by telling you it was HOTTER here today than where YOU are!!  Errrrrrrrrrrr......

I must tell you how much I admire your love and devotion. It's not that Chuck doesn't deserve it (or you), I imagine it's just hard sometimes (maybe often) to stay and support and stay and love - draining and fulfilling. I love you and think the world of you my friend!

I just read your blog.. how cute.. AND Ken and I watched "Pretty Woman" yesterday too... so see there
we were together.. I never get tired of that show.. LOVE IT, LOVE IT... and I always cry at the END...
No matter how many times I watch it..
I worked at the store yesterday till after lunch and then came home and helped Ken in the yard.. He was mowing like crazy so I picked up the Weedeater and did that job.. so things look pretty good around here.
It's really cool here this morning.. 50 something..
I hope you two have a wonderful day and we will be thinking of you...
Love ya,
Cynthia

Hotter than 92 plus humidity inching up the heat index to 97 or 98..?? Is it because it is not elevated
enough....you know, up on a mountain? or is it in a deep valley with no breeze? Ya'll have really
had some wild variations in temps! wait till you get to the washington coast or even down to san francisco!
ya'll be safe.
