DAY 7: A Little Tax; A Little Rain and Squiggy the Squirrel

DAY 7:  Cave of the Winds, Manitou Springs, CO

Today was Payroll and Sales Tax day.........Just cause we get to travel to exotic places like Amarillo, doesn't mean I get to stop working.  No sir-eeeeeee.......

I know...I know....we're not in Amarillo anymore, but I was just trying not to rub it in that we're in beautiful, heavenly, magnificant, drop-dead gorgeous, easy-on-the-eye, jaw-dropping spectacular Colorado.   I know how ya'll hate it when I do that......

So finished up my quarterly payroll reports two weeks early; completed the Sales Tax a good 10 days ahead of time......and now I was ready to PLAY!  Chuck and I hopped on the Trike and headed to the mountains again.  Hadn't been out there any time at all when here come the storm clouds........

Don't get me wrong.....I'm not complaining......just whining........whining and wishing it didn't rain every single time we go for a ride.....

So, what happened in our lives today besides the rain and taxes??  Glad you asked.....cause I want to tell you about this Super Squirrel here that actually picked up one of those heavy doggy toys called Red Kong Jawrobics.  Not only did this squirrel pick up this toy that weighs probably 5 pounds, but dragged it up this big old tree to his home.   I can just hear his wife now......."Squiggy (thats his name), don't be thinkin' you're bringing that monstrasity into this house!  It totally doesn't go at all with the acorns!"

I also visited the Cave of the Winds today (Chuck thought it was too windy for his hair, so he stayed home)........I felt absolutely no wind at all in the cave while walking through with my little lantern but did discover that they believe the cave is "haunted" .....well, ain't that a surprise.....Just add it to the Wendy's, Days Inn and Wal-Mart that are already on the "haunted" list.....

But it was a good day.....a very good day.

If you do 550, Million dollar Highway, video it. They say they've made lots of improvements since we were there in 2001
