My Guy Is Going To Be Just Fine.....

Thursday, May 17, 2012

Well, I know after the bug splat blog last night, you're probably thinking Liz is about tapped out....at the end of her rope......throwing in the towel......crying uncle....

But nope......I simply look at this picture I took of Chuck the other day (pre-broken hip) cleaning my Jeep window at the gas station and its a reminder that those bug splats can be easily removed with a little water (prayer), a little elbow grease (faith) and the right tools (the Word).

Soooooo......since I have all the above items working in my favor, I'm goooooooood folks.........

And since I'm trying to look beyond the crisis' occurring in my life right now, thought I'd share some of the more entertaining things going on.....

NURSE: "Mr. Etheridge, do you wear dentures?"
CHUCK: "No, I had lasik surgery about 10 years ago."

Okkkkkkkk.......

(Did I ever mention he's hard of hearing??)

And he was absolutely tickled pink to learn he and the surgeon uesd the same power tools while "talking shop" on the way to surgery last night.....

And some (I'm not one to name names, but it was the pastor) have actually accused him of breaking his hip to get out of "Coffee Bar Duty" at church Sunday. And who'd blame him; last week, his first week at coffee bar duty, he inadvertently made a new drink called "coff-tea"; a mixture of coffee and tea.  Not sure what affect this will have on attendance from this point forward......

My guy is going to be just fine......
(isn't he cute!?)

Goodness, I turn my back on you guys for just a minute--and you're up to "no-good"! Where did he have his sx? Hope all is "knitting"--and he'll be up and going soon. How the heck did he manage to break his hip? As a nurse, I hate to tell you--the worse pt in the world is a husband---they don't mind worth a damn! Prayers headed your way! Hugs and hugs, MJ

Thanks for your sweet note. Yes, I agree the getting up sooner the better is so important, but I know it's got to be so difficult for him, yet you must have him able to get around a little. Soooo, I am going to plan on bringing you dinner Sat. eve, however, will check with you this eve. or sometime Sat. to be sure that will work for ya'll. Luv ya'll & lifting Chuck (& you ) up often thru the day to the Lord.

Glad to hear that Chuck is doing fairly well (in spite of the pain). He sounds like a wonderful guy and not the kind to feel sorry for himself. I have the impression that he’ll push himself to do everything he can to recover. Continued prayers!

Dear Liz,

I just wanted to share with you a gift you gave me the day your Mother died. We were at church in the pew in front of you and at the end of the service, I turned to you to tell you how beautiful you looked. You had on a sleeveless dress and a beautiful necklace. When I saw you and Chuck, he had embraced you. Your head was on his shoulder, and the tableau was one of pain -- but more importantly, it was an embrace of total and pure love. I had the same feeling when I saw the Pietà in St Peters in Rome. I took a picture of the two of you in my mind and it will always remain with me.

Your mutual love is truly a gift from God.

Love you,

Sandee

Sandee.....

It's been a tough day......

And your beautiful words.....your beautiful, heartfelt words, has tears running down my cheeks as I type this to you. It was just what I needed to hear......just what I needed to remind me that all will be okay.....we will get through this difficult hiccup in our lives. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing that with me. I remember distinctly becoming so emotional at church that day. I knew Mom was close to passing and yet, I needed to be in church that day. I had Googled "Tips on how to keep yourself from crying" earlier that day (I really did!) and it had given me some 20 tips on how to accomplish this difficult task....obviously, it didn't work on me. I hate crying in front of people cause I get this real contorted, swollen eye look that is disgusting, but there was no holding back the tears that day.

And here I am.....still crying! Thank you again from the bottom of my heart for sharing that precious memory with me. You always know just what to say and when to say it!!

I am so blessed to call you my "friend"......

Love you

Liz
