Just One of Those Days........

October 22, 2012

Today has been one of THOSE days......

One of my Meals on Wheels clients, who has been "mentally slipping" over the past year, decided she didn't want me delivering her meals to her anymore after 6 years.  I must admit; I was devastated.  I asked her "why" and she said it was cause I made her "nervous".  I make a lot of people nervous, but after asking her "how I made her nervous", she said, "I don't really want to talk about it, but its because you didn't show up two weeks ago."  Now, two weeks ago, I was headed to the doctor for poison ivy covering the left side of my face and couldn't deliver my meals that day, however, someone else took my route that day.  Bless her heart.....although I knew she wasn't thinking clearly, I still left there with tears running down my face....

Tears resolved, Chuck and I headed to Wal-Mart.  I hate Wal-Mart.......but it's all we got, folks.  As we're checking out, the credit card machine won't accept my debit card.  My heart skips a beat......I feel myself starting to panic.....wondering "why" won't it accept my card.  As I nervously try to access my bank account through the tiny little 3"x2" screen on my iphone while pushing a grocery cart out to the parking lot, I can't get my bank account to pull up.  My mind is racing as I fly down the country roads, dodging squirrels and deer, to the house where I am able to finally pull up our bank account and see that someone in Pennsylvania is buying boots.....LOTS of boots.....on our bank account to the tune of several hundred dollars.  AGHHHHH.......

But today wasn't totally a waste of a perfectly beautiful day.....oh no.......after my little incident with my Meals on Wheels client above, another client I hadn't seen in several months was finally home.  Ohhhhhh.....it was so AWESOME seeing my sweet friend Jewel and her son WB.  They are like family to me.....so much so, their family invited me this past Mothers Day, a week after losing my own mother,  to spend Mother's Day with their whole family.....Did I mention their mother, Jewell, is going to be 106 in December??  Awwww......seee.........life is goooooood.......

Oh ya, and finally......I learned tonight that if you put your ipod buds in your nose, the music will come out your mouth!!!  Really....Try it.......WAY COOL!!!!

Oh Liz, what have you started... Amanda just happened to walk up as I scrolled
down to you putting your ipod buds in your nose... I imagine the entire Mills
Elementary school will soon be trying this! As she reads what I am typing and
assures me she'll teach everybody how to do it!

Thanks!!! :o)

Hi Liz---

Really!!!! That little old person (lady) was so looking forward to your visit----she was MAD at you for not showing up when she had been waiting for you to bring her meal. Little old people get that way----- she was REALLY missing you---now, that’s a fact. She was punishing you to see if you were mad at her for some unknown reason. Never mind about your problem, little old people get like little kids----it’s all about them. Don’t you worry about this!!!

Now, who knows in the Lord’s name stole your credit card number----one time someone was buying a Acura car in Connecticut with our credit card until we had a phone call from the cc bank. They had already charged 30,000 in charges to various accounts that were sitting dormant with no balance. Someone worked for the credit bureau and given (paid someone) for our number. It was a hassle, of course.

You little goofball, who would have ever discovered the music thingy!!!! Only you, Liz. Love you,

Bonnie

Kudos to you dear friend for being able to see the good along with the bad - and, ummm, no, I didn't know that if you put your earbuds in your nose, the music comes out of your mouth - please note the continual use of you - cause there's no way on God's green earth I'm gonna put them in my nose and then back in my ears! - just sayin' - :)

Love you!!

This is a real interesting email blog......but the best part was last, re the earbuds! That was
so funny.......you could have beautiful singing come out of your mouth....be an instant opera
star! I hope you cleaned them before they went into your ears again......Nose bugs can
travel and you could develop rhinitis or stuffy "ears"......or wax in your nose!

The lady who is having memory problems will probably not remember that you had an
absence....given that short term memory loss is usually the first to go......and if you take
her a little bouquet, she will not ever remember it again!

And I can't believe that Jewel is going to be 106 years old! Right on!

Now the boots on your bank account....that is another matter....was it a bank
employee who stole the account numbers and went shopping.? Hope you
filed a police report....that is super important.....not that they will do much but
it is required for any insurance that covers this type of thing. I had someone
claim I was in an ALF up near Orlando and I found out about it when Medicare
sent me one of those notices...but the old insurance card from Sarasota
Memorial was also billed and I was no longer with them, so they sent a copy
of a denial....I marched right down to the Sherrif's office and filed a report.....
a few days later, they said they had gotten billings for other former employees of
Sarasota Memorial. In fact I am trying to determine how I can file my income tax
on 1-2-13 and then later on "revise" it if it is not correct....this way, if I file first,
no fraud guys can get it as I will already have gotten it! I really don't like
internet banking but USAA does not have a board and mortar building in
Florida....and I can't drive to San Antonio, Texas to bank! The University of
South Florida Credit Union cloest office is St. Pete or Tampa, which isn't too
close but I feel it is alot safer.

well, must close and get this in the mail....Your blogs are so interesting!
Love you both lots and lots.

This is awesome! I have a vision -- We can download the organ accompaniment to your ipod, and YOU can deliver it through your magic mouth while simultaneously ringing BELLS!! Never before seen or heard (or attempted). PS: I agree about Wallyworld.
