DAY 70: A "Painful" Last Day in Salt Lake City......

DAY 70:  Park City, Utah - September 7, 2010

I woke this morning from a dream that Chuck was driving the RV up and down my parents street.......couldn't find a parking spot.....which might be due to the fact that he was driving the RV with all the slides out.......

Well, I must thank my dear friend, GLENDA, for recommending we make a ride over to Park City, Utah.  WOW!  A super neat little ski town just a mere 30 minutes outside of Salt Lake City and that's where we triked on over to today.....our last day in Salt Lake City.

Just outside of this super-duper town was where they had the Winter Olympics back in 2002 and I begged.....BEGGED......Chuck to see if they would let us drive the trike down that awesome ski jump slope-a-ma-jig.........BEGGED...........He said no.

After the "begging scene", I retreated and we continued on up the mountain, ooing and ahhhing around every corner.  We finally worked our way up to the top and decided to pull over and just enjoy the view for a few minutes.  I had no more gotten off the trike when I feel "something" in my helmet....It took me no time at all to realize very QUICKLY that it was a bee.....a bee in my helmet.....a bee stinging my cheek......

Can you see where the bee stung me??
At this point, I need you to close your eyes........well, that won't work; you can't read what happens next......OPEN YOUR EYES..........Picture if you will Liz, with helmet on being stung on the cheek by a bee.....she can't get the helmet off...the snap under her chin will not unsnap....she is jumping around the road screaming trying desperately to get her helmet off....bee still in the helmet (I think)......Chuck watching this whole scene unfold from the sidelines not knowing why his wife is jumping around screaming.......I finally get the helmet off, toss it (ok, I threw it) on the ground holding the side of my face still pacing.......and you know what my sweet, loving husband had to say??  "Hey, don't throw you helmet down....be careful with it......" as he picks it up, dusts it off checking it over for scratches.  Errrrrrrrrr

He had the brilliant idea to rub some of his Red Hots Candy on the sting.  He reasoned that the cinnamon in it would help make it feel better......so we rubbed Red Hots Candy on my cheek.....It gave me a headache......

I just had to include this picture of a sign we saw in downtown Park City.....my maiden name is Calloway (spelled slightly different) and I have an Uncle Ray......I thought he'd get a kick out of this..

So, we ended our last day in Salt Lake City watching Chuck's favorite movie......JAWS........I'm totally creeped out right now....

And we really will be sad to leave Salt Lake City....unlike Idaho.....

Well Liz, red-hots might not work on bee stings, but apparently they could be used in a pinch for blush….might want to keep some around the house.
