TEMP: 70 Degrees (high)
The address all our Colorado friends can send their "rain" checks to is:
Pikes Peak RV Park
320 Manitou Avenue
Manitou Springs, CO 80829
Here's the deal........
Colorado is in the middle of a severe drought.....but thanks to Chuck and Liz, and the fact that their only means of transportation is a motorcycle and a 40' RV, we are single-handedly responsible for ending this drought.
Yep, that's right......hasn't rained in months around here........until we pull into town. Now, not only are they no longer in a drought, they're flooding. Happens every time we get on the trike. Like I said last year when the same thing happened to us, we are seriously considering leasing ourselves out to drought-stricken areas.....
Anyway, we did see a short break in the clouds this morning which gave us just enough time to make it to Wal-Mart to get Chuck his beloved chocolate milk and a drill bit. We made it there okay......we just didn't make it "back" in time......Picture if you will.........rain pelting your head; on-coming cars hitting LARGE puddles of water just as they get to you.....you doing a slow-motion duck of the head to avoid a direct hit in the face...all the while you hear the words "ohhhh nooooo" coming from your mouth. Yep, that's pretty much how it all went down.
Now.....on to the drill bit. Since we had a bit of time on our hands back at the RV park, what with the rain and all, Chuck decided this was a good time to hook up his wireless headphones to the TV. These headphones are the kind for hard-of-hearing folks who turn the TV up to where the neighbors complain. This is a blessing, not only for the neighbors, but for his wife as well. It means I can now take the cotton out of my ears when watching Bill O'Reilly.
View from the Dashboard |
Turns out it was a little more difficult that he originally thought. He worked; and he worked; and he worked....He positioned me on the dashboard holding the cables while he fished them thru the newly drilled hole (that's how I got this picture); he accidently dropped the cable box onto the RV horn which woke everyone up in the RV park who had been napping.......it was a long afternoon.
But I am happy to report......SUCCESS!
And my sinus headache?? Well.....let's just say its not much better.......

Can you drive to Central Texas?? We desperately need the rain!!!"
Hi guys, I would like to see you guys on Monday around dinner time, what time is good for you, and if it rains you can ride with me how's that?
Israel
Send us the rain!
NEVER, NEVER say for "rain to go away"! Just load it up and bring it back here. You guys sure didn't seem to bring a flood to North East Texas when you were at home! Have you thought that your headache might just be an "altitude headache"--not sinus? Hugs, MJ
Why doesn’t that work at home????!!!!!!
You could charge a fee and make life better for everyone... LOL enjoy your stories. I know about TV.. My hearing is worse due to Him needing it so loud till he finaly got hearing aids"

Wow, Liz I'm sorry your having so much trouble! Do you need to go to an ear doctor and have him take an x-ray and give you some meds. Your going to scare everyone in the park, if you don't get some help! Take care of yourself!1 Love, Lois
Can you feel me there with you! Hope so, because I'm there in spirit, only problem, its kinda crowded with 3 on that trike. Lol"

Dear Travelers,
Well, the boat lifts got fixed yesterday and we went to Dallas to retrieve my car. The septic system isn’t quite bouncing back plus it was 107 in Dallas today.
Beam me up to Colorado, Scotty!
Love,
Sandee
