"Welcome Home, Mom"

Monday, April 30, 2012

Today.......

Mom Finished The Good, Long Fight.....

She Kept Consistently Steady on Course.....

And She Never Once Lost Her Faith.

Today, my Mom breathed her last breath on this dreadful place called Earth.

She was so tired.....
She had worked overtime in this job called Life.

Today.....
My Mom entered this nifty place called

Heaven.

Where
No more arthritic knees...
No more shaking from Parkinsons....
No more confusion from Dementia....
And no more Tears.......

Are Allowed To Enter

Welcome Home
Mom

(Don't start bowling without me, ok?)

I am deeply sadden to hear that your mom is reaching " end of life " as we know it here on earth. The bond you shared is very clear and I am sure she knows how much you loved her. And I am sure you know how much she loved you. What more can we ask of life , than that? I wish there was more I could say or do to ease your pain but at a time like this it is a very private time between you and your loved one. May peace be with you and all of your family in is most difficult of times. My prayers are with you all. Jim.

God never promised a life without pain,
Laughter without tears or sun without rain.
But He did promise strength for the day,
Comfort for the tears and light for the way,
And for all who believe In His Heaven above
He rewards their faith In His everlasting love.

Oh Liz----thanks for letting us know about your Mom entering the gates of Heaven!!!! You are right, she has earned her place of peace and that’s the way it should be for those that love the Lord and kept the faith here on this crazy place called Earth. She was a wonderful Mother to you and you will miss her terribly, as we all do when our Mother’s leave this place. That’s perfectly OK because she was a special lady and deserves to be missed by all that loved her. I will be praying for you and your family who feel the loss that God will allow his amazing Grace to give you strength and comfort.
Our love and sympathy—

Hi Liz, it's Brett, breaking into my wife's Facebook account, which I have never done before! She told me about the posts regarding your Mom and I looked at your blog site just now and wanted to send a message to tell you how sorry we are for your loss and that we are thinking about you. It's been many years but I remember visiting your Mom and Dad those summers in TX and remember your Mom always being such a sweet and caring person, always interested in what we were doing or how our summer was going when Alex and I were kids. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

Hi Miss Liz: I just wanted to let you know how very much I appreciate your calling and also for sending us this beautiful video. It brought tears to my eyes. Last night when I went to visit my aunt Isabel I told her about Miss Dorothy, we were very sad and she started remembering since the first day Miss Dorothy hired her to babysit Lance and to take care of her house, then, later on Miss Dorothy gave my aunt the great opportunity of working in the shop, where she said that she learned a lot from Miss Dorothy on labeling and packing. Also, my aunt remembers how fast Miss Dorothy did the labeling. Then she said: "I always thought that Miss Dorothy will be at my funeral", my aunt never thought that Our Lord would call Miss Dorothy first. I personally love her , also I thank her and I appreciate her for giving me the opportunity of working for her too. We both remember Miss Dorothy as a wonderful lady and we feel very blessed for knowing she and her beautiful family. We are so honored for our Lord giving us the blessing of knowing each of you. Miss Liz, when you called I told you that I couldn't go to Restland this Saturday because my husband and I were going to Athens to visit my mother in law but Lenny said that we can go tomorrow there, so my aunt Isabel and I go Saturday to Restland. I beg you, please, let me know at what time we should be there this coming Saturday. We have being praying that our Lord surround each of you with love in this sad times.

Our love to you,
Beatriz Thornton

2016 - Liz ,
I have been watching the weather closely and praying that you and Chuck are getting no further damage. I love your comments about your mom too. My mum just had a pacemaker put in and had some issues during surgery as well as having some neurological problems. Mum has been in a rehab hospital for about six weeks and her mortality is really making its presence known to us. Thanks for your humanizing comments on how it is to have your mother going home. Not a memory we generally want to relive but your celebration is definitely one to keep reading and remembering. It really means something to me since I never expected to outlive my mum.
Take care and God Bless,
Stuart
